How to Rotate PDF
- Add your PDF. Drag the file onto the drop zone. Page previews appear showing the current orientation of each page.
- Choose a rotation. Pick 90° clockwise, 90° anticlockwise or 180°, and decide whether it applies to every page, a range, or only landscape pages.
- Check the preview. The previews update to show the result, so you can confirm before saving.
- Save. Download the rotated PDF. The new orientation is written into the file and will hold in any reader.
Why rotating in your PDF reader never sticks
Nearly everyone arrives here after the same frustration: they rotated the page in Preview, Acrobat or a browser, and the next person to open the file still saw it sideways.
That happens because most readers treat rotation as a view setting. The button turns the page on your screen without changing the document, and closing the file discards it. Some readers offer a save that does persist, and some do not make the distinction clear at all.
This tool writes the rotation into each page's own properties in the document. That is a real change to the file, so it survives being emailed, uploaded, printed or opened in a completely different application.
Rotate only the pages that are wrong
Applying one rotation to a whole document is easy. The awkward case is a mostly-correct scan with a handful of sideways pages — rotating everything just breaks the pages that were fine.
Two options handle this. Set a page range to rotate only those pages. Or use the “landscape pages only” filter, which finds pages that are wider than they are tall and rotates just those — this catches the usual cause, where a few sheets went through the scanner turned the wrong way.

Rotation and printing
A rotated page keeps its original dimensions — a rotated A4 portrait page is still A4, just presented landscape. Printers handle this correctly and will orient the sheet to match.
Worth knowing: rotating does not re-flow or resize anything. If a page was cut off at the edge before rotating, it will still be cut off afterwards. That is a cropping problem rather than an orientation one, and the Crop & Resize tool is the right place for it.
