How to Edit PDF Metadata
- Add your PDF. Drop the file in. Its existing metadata is read and shown in the form immediately.
- Edit the fields. Change whatever you need. Leaving a field empty writes it as empty rather than keeping the old value.
- Save. The document information dictionary is rewritten and the file is rebuilt around it.

Why the title matters more than people expect
A PDF's title field, not its filename, is what most viewers show in the window title bar. It is also what search engines display when a PDF ranks, and what many document management systems index on.
The result is a lot of published PDFs titled things like "Microsoft Word - final draft v7 REVISED.docx", because the field was inherited from the authoring tool and never looked at. If you are putting a document on the web, this is a two-minute fix with an outsized effect on how it appears.
Editing details versus removing them

A note on Producer
